Native to Australia, Lemon Myrtle is also called as ‘the Queen of the Lemon Herbs’. Its leaves have a very intensely citrus aroma and they can be used in cuisine and medicine, having antifungal and antibacterial properties. Lemon Myrtle’s leaves can be used in teas, cakes or sauces.
This species likes warm spots from full sun to part shade areas, well drained soil and water regularly. It also attracts insects and bees. They can grow up to 3m tall.
It is perfect as an ornamental shade tree for any garden.
