Banksia aemula, commonly known as the “banksia wallum”, is a lignotuber or shrub of the Proteaceae family. It has wrinkled orange bark and bright green serrated leaves, with spikes of yellow-green flowers, known as inflorescences, that appear in autumn. The flower spikes turn gray as they age and large gray follicles appear.
